Ok guys Im *really* interested in your opinions here - obviously nearly all of you haven't been to our new temporary home Fudge Bar before but you can see what its like from the wildside-net.com front page. You've all been to Junktion7 I bet and obviously we all know about Spiders Obviously hard to tell how Fudge will work out, looks like we'll be there for at least the next 2 months then probably move to Junktion 7 I'll post my opinions at a later time but im interested with what you guys think ....

I think of Spiders as THE Wildside venue. It just doesn't seem right anywhere else. Fudge bar was O.K, but didn't seem like a club night. J7 is better, but Spiders is the only place for Wildside. Hope the place gets sorted soon.

Heh, interesting reading seeing as the amount of people that moan about Spiders - the bar and size being the main issue - of which Fudge Bar is obviously superior.
Maybe for next month I should move the dancefloor downstairs? Or do you prefer it upstairs?

didn't make it to fudge for WS at the weekend i came back from seeing my G/f's dad down south and then i had my nephews 2nd birthday so i was well knakked.
didn't think much to WS being downstairs in J7 the 3 Dj thing spoiled it for me. Up stairs would be good i think but i don't know about having bands every week maybe once in a while would be cool.
Seeing as i wasn't there on sat don't know about the fudge venue but if it's gonna be there next month i guess i will chk it out

Didn't make it on Saturday unfortunately but to be honest the location of the venue is a but off putting. As I drive all the time I wouldn't feel happy about parking my car on Alfreton nor would I me happy parking near city and walking up Alfreton at the end of the night.
Junktion 7 get my vote IF it was held upstairs and it would be cool to have a band every time if it was inkeeping with the night i.e. glam/sleaze. Would be cool if you had a 'house band' like Faster Pussycat at the Cathouse or Metal Skool at the Roxy!!!

I'm sticking with Spiders. I've always liked it and think as a dedicated alternative club we owe it some loyalty. Although I must admit the size of the dancefloor is a problem when things get busy.
J7 is fine for bands but not a great club venue imo. Fudge was quite nice. However I think only the loyal few will trudge out of town each month. The more casual punter will just got to Rock City instead. You know what its like, had a few pints, can't be arsed to walk up the hill. People on this board are the ones likely to make the effort, obv. I would, but sadly many won't.

Are you worried about how many turn up to Fudge Bar? Does it make a difference?
By 11pm it was packed with regulars and the venue doesnt care how much you get in and nor do they charge me for room hire.
Wildside will definitely be at Junktion7 by October and Saturday August 6th has been booked at Fudge Bar confirmed. I think its likely to move to J7 permanently unless it doesnt work out there then we're back to square one and looking for another venue or going back to Fudge Bar. You never know Spiders might reopen in that time...

Of course Spiders gets my vote! But as it's future is uncertain then I'd go for Junktion7 with no bands as an alternative - especially if they can sort a 2am licence. Fudge bar was nice, but dancing was difficult and it would be unlikely to get a later licence. I think the dancefloor would be better downstairs next month - then we're all together and upstairs can be used for chilling out - like at Spiders! :-)

My money goes for J7 with no bands, as I feel they always tend to detract from the atmosphere of a club night.
Word on the street is that Spiders has been sold on, and won't be a rock club if it ever reopens.

I agree with Damian. I'd rather just dance than see any bands. Although I am really looking forward to seeing Wild Roses/Sweet Seduction/Whatever The Fuck They're Calling Themselves Now!

can't wait for wildside this month i have not heard the bands but i heard sweet seduction are good. j7 is a good venue to have it, some of the drinks can be cheap and the dance floor is bigger than spiders and fudge bar.
oh does anyone know where i can buy nitro's ofr album and any madam x album

I hope you guys will make the effort to check out the bands tho - I assue you I wouldnt book anything less than top quality glam or I wouldnt at all.
I just had an interview for a magazine and this is one of the things I said about now having live music at the start of the night -
"If we don't support the talent thats out there then who will? And what future does Wildside have and scene in general if we all dont help and push each other? Without these bands continuing to keep proper fucking rock n roll alive Wildside has no place to exist"
Sweet and Spit are travelling a long way to play and what they make at the end of the night depends on you guys. They're future does to I suppose! We do have some reviewers coming down.
Anyway, the bands will be finished by 10.30ish so you can come into the clubnight for £2 after, but if you think about it - its fucking cheap and only £1 a band! A bargain I reckon!
