Sonata Arctica - really cheesy power metal from Finland, but really reallllllllly good! Get the song "Full Moon" its v.addictive! Devin Townsend........ get anything by him! Hes my god! And musical inspiration. Started off singing for Steve Vai on Sex&Religion album....then went and did the rediculously heavy Strapping Young Lad...... but go for the emotional/powerfull/sad Ocean Machine album which incidentally is my favourite album evar! Inifinity is like Queen meets Frank Zappa meets Wildhearts! And Accelerated Evolution is his newest and most poppy  Get the song Ocean Machine - Life! Should be a #1 single if it ever was released! Balance Of Power.....melodic/power metal. Well worth checking out. Recommended songs - "Shelter Me", "One Voice" more later! |

Can I add (long atfer the original post) that for cheezy power metal, you can't beat Dragon Force (Valley of teh Damned or Heart of a Dragon  -top tracks), or PowerQuest (Far Away  Or for something compleeeeetely different, check out Nightwish (Wishmaster rox, but their versions of Over the Hillls, and Walking in the Air are waaaaaaay coooool (man  ) |
