I have to say he didnt put a great deal of effort in or having much interesting to say...

but

Well I asked him questions about LNN I wanted to know. A little more detail might have been cool but the questions were answered.

I think you gotta cut him some slack for English not being his first language so it's not fair to say he didn't put effort in. I dread to think how long it'd take me to answer an interview and have to translate it all back and forth.
