You reckon its worth going to sit thro all those other American nu-metal wank fests?
Id say its highly likely that Brides will do at least one gig like in London before the festival

Personally, I'd say Brides of Destruction is a good reason for avoiding anywhere, really...

Brides of Destruction? Physical assault with paper followed by a nice bath in lemon juice and salt seems preferable. Sorry, I just don't like 'em and believe me, I really did try.

Yes, it was a tad dissapointing (the album) wasnt it?
Ive found like 2 good songs on that album so far (I Dont Care being the best imho) the rest....wtf they doing?
I dont think Nikki was writing much for it, and was mostly down to Tracii Guns, so this is what I call the Tracii Guns syndrome...
I love LA Guns. Bit like Skid Row, cause they were the first 'glam' bands I discovered when I was very young. I went down to the local old vinyl store in my small town which was run by this old couple - typical oldfashioned vinyl shop ie complete mess, no shelves, everything unorganised and in cardboard boxes on floors. I came across the LA Guns first album with that cool cover on, that Id seen Nicko wearing on a Tshirt (was a big Maiden fan growing up) so bought it for 50p and loved it, then went out and got all the other albums. Ok Im waffling but I noticed on every LA Guns album - theres always like 2 or 3 really standout ace tracks and the rest is just average or rubbish. You can look at every LAGuns album to see that. Notice how none of their albums is ever described as the definitive LA Guns album, or a glam classic? The other thing is Tracii tries to follow every trend under the sun and ends up stretching himself to far and just writing average crap.
On Brides you hear stuff thats just shit punk, grunge-lite, ballads, some Nickelback crap, and the token classic rawk tune.
Just write whats good man and true to you! A cross of Crue and Guns would have been awesome, but trying to appeal to the kiddies is a WRONG move as whatever you do they aint gonna buy your albums as you're old, and was part of the glam scene in the 80s, its a stone thats always going to hang round your neck! Face up to it, and grow old gracefully.

Face up to it, and grow old gracefully. In some ways that's true. If they'd have stuck to what they know and do best the album could have been so much better. I can't help feeling Tracii Guns has lost the plot somewhat, though. The sad thing is, some of these kiddies will buy into this. Why? Purely because of Nikki Sixx and his past. God knows the Murderdolls have spouted about their love of the Crue long and loud enough. Their kiddy fans will buy it purely on that merit alone (I used to be a regular on the 'dolls board, trust me, that's the mentality of 90% of what goes on there).

Ne'er a truer word hath been spoken (yey verily etc) I think that this (trying to appeal to the kids) rings true to far too many bands today...sadly (Note to self...God I sound depressed today, all I seem to write is sad stuff...god damn its only 5 days to Wildside - cheer up crube...)

It's all a bit sad when they try to appeal to the kiddies. Beautiful Creatures seemed to have managed it quite well though, newish sound whislt retaining elements or Mr Leste's former Bang Tango Days. It has to be said their Ozzfest tour must have helped their spooky rating though.

Good call on the Beautiful Creatures thing...
I was initially put off years ago when i first heard the CD as initial impression was 'oh bugger, sad old glammies try to go all nu-metal' ... "Step Back" is the track in question grr!
But damn... theres some good stuff on there, and I think they really nail it down on Wasted, 1AM and Ride. Has their classic influences, whilst still sounding modern, fresh and heavy. Result!
Brides just sound a bit tired to me. meh

You've hit the nail on the head there, Al. Step Back is one track off the BC album I just don't get. I do love BC though. Took me a while to convince the Hamster that they were good. Repeated playings of 1 a.m. finally swung it.

brides of destruction good in parts but poor in others, its the way that rock and roll should be played loud and dirty but the ballads dont work.
