Just found this review of the Dublin gig....
be warned, contains SPOILERS!!!
This report from Si on the Dublin Show is full of content and SPOILERS........
Just returned home from Dublin and while I haven`t read all my post yet I figured I`d get some stuff down about the show while I can. This will have *serious spoilers* so don`t go any further if you want to be surprised although things may change anyway of course.
The Dublin show was in a tiny theatre that seriously resembled the one seen on The Muppet show all those eyars ago. It even had the boxes either side with sickthings own Ken Bloor and Mike Drew playing the "grumpy old men parts! The stage was quite small with the monitors right at the lip of the stage leaving no room for Alice`s usual roaming. The stageset was the same as the Bare Bones/Eyes set with the lights in the eyes of the backdrop.etc.
Support was from some busker on accoustic guitar whos name I couldn`t make out (anyone catch it?). Pretty dull.
After the support they started playing a tape of ALice songs including Hello Hooray, Most of side 2 of RYFAY and then a few tracks from Eyes which actually worked quite well in warming up the audience and was good advertising for the album.
The Black Juju intro take started up, slightly different to last year as it didn`t seem to be the album version but something created from that for use in the show.
Setlists posted appear at a glance to be correct but here it is again direct from the setlist stuck on the stage (thanks Pat!)
Hello Horray - as last time slightly cut short and into..
No More Mr Nice Guy
Man Of The Year
Billion Dollar Babies - with money sword
Between High School & Old School
Muscle of Love - Jon seems to think Alice had little to do during this onebut it was nice to hear again
Be My Lover
WHO DO YOU THINK WE ARE!!!! - This was the big surprise we`d heard about obviously and sounded great. It could maybe have segued better from the previous track but it was fantastic to finally hear something from the period included in the set again. Whether it will remain in the set only time will tell but I hope it does as I didn`t notice any relaxing of the audience to cause its removal.
What do you want from me ?
18
Desperado (with Clockwork Orange theme intro as last year) - Alice with the Cowboy gear, gun etc
Halo Of Flies - with drum so by new man Tommy C who was having a whale of a time up there singing to the songs and hammering the kit in a way I don`t think Eric Singer has done in years. I think we were all very impressed by his playing. He had a huge smile on his face throughout the show!!
Sick Things - Alice in spats appeared above the speakers with the Irish snake sourced by Bill specially for this show. Nice to hear this again as well although maybe it could have been a touch shorter. Alice walks down to the front of the stage with the snake before Renfield cam out to remove it.
Gutter Cat Vs The Jets - Very good version which instead of going into Streetfight actually went straight into...
Backyard Brawl - with the strobes going and various people (including I believe the first Euro appearance on stage by Dash Cooper!) playing out the fight scene behind Alice at the front of the stage snarling out the lyrics. Very good.
Cold Ethyl - with the dummy (was that a head modelled on Calico? Looked like it) was good and went into the obligatory...
Only Women Bleed - Eric on acoustic guitar with Calico rising up and doing her dancing bit before putting Alice into the Straightjacket for...
Dwight Fry performed as usual more or less
School's Out - concluded the show with the Balloons etc.
Encore was :-
Brutal Planet which cut into Wicked Young man then back to BrutalPlanet before finishing back in Wicked Young Man again. Nice idea but not sure it completely worked and did seem to stand out a bit from the rest of a show.
Poison - The beginning was changed slightly with the keyboard sample playing and the band hitting the first power chords then stopping dead while the audience went nuts! The Ryan reels off the famous riff and the band come back in. Worked very well actually and I hope they keep it.
Under My Wheels - Band intros. Eric appears in a Lephrecaun green tophat well it is Ireland which we`d told him about earlier in the day and he`s headed of to find. Looked great and he threw it out to the audience at the end of the song.
And that was it. The show wizzed past so fast it was hard to believe it was over yet as you can see from the set list its not a short show. Personally I thought this show was far better then last years setlists and the Dublin show was a special one. Sure, there wre a few rough edges here and there but you`d expect that on the first night. Tommy C did himself proud, all the band looked like they were having a great time and glad to be back on the road.

Sounds cool, anyone bothering to go to the London gig?
