The room hire's a hefty amount and now Ive recently had to employ someone to work on the door for me costing me more. The cost for advertising....ie printing flyers and posters aint cheap either and for a big Sat night DJing I should be walking away with more Ive been told.
Im ok with it for now, but now its established and doing well I have to think about the future what dya reckon? I mean Nightmare on the other Saturday there charge £5 before 11 then £6 after! And still pack it out!
At the moment its £2 before 11, £3 between 11 and 12, and then £4 after. Last Saturday most my trade came from people turning up after 12......

Al the GlamRock-Pusher!

Heh heh - seriously though I wouldn't mind paying an extra quid/quid 50.
It's a proper good night so I'd pay up to about £6, but I'm a die hard glammie. You don't wanna scare away the potential 'lets give it a go' crowd by jacking up the price too much (esp if it's more than Rig/Rock City).

Yeah Evz makes a good point on not scaring people away, though i still think it could go u the 1-1:50 mark.
I'm not sure actually, do you already do cheaper prices on the door with flyers?

I did for a while have £1 flyers for the first night, and £1 flyers for the September one but they were only given out at Bloodstock festival and to a few freshers at the fayre.
Ok so how about I keep it £2 before 10 so people can get in cheaper than the rig before that time, then £4 for 10pm-12am, then £5 after midnight?

God 1 pound with a flyer is MUCH too cheap... i was thinking more a flyer thing so that its for the later times. e.g. if you put the prices up to 4 for 10-11, you could have a flyer saying 3 for 10-11 as thats the time most people head over from pubs?

Not bad idea! But not everyone gets hold of flyers that easily, its hard to put them round town esp when Tap N Tumbler wont have them and Rock City has a monopoly over places to flyer too (ie......in Speak Easy they'll come in and remove competing nights flyers the bastards)
Talking of Rock City, this is their current Sat night prices -
£1 with flyer before 10 (hard to get hold of tho) £4 with NUS before 11
£5 NORMAL ENTRY before Midnight £6 after midnight
So basically its a fiver for most people there, rip off IMO
